"These have been trying times in Asheville after TS Helene destroyed our city, homes and lives. Having lived in South Florida for 47 years and going through Andrew, Wilma and other hurricanes I thought I had seen and experienced it all. I hadn't And we will get through this over time. I wanted to thank my State Farm Agent Bill Russell, his team, and the incredible claims adjustors we worked with Josh Bowers and Kewain Couthen for their compassion and professionalism. Josh came out on a Monday and we had payment for 100% of our damages by that Saturday; Kewain came out on a Friday at 4pm to meet our contractor and we were approved and payment received the next Thursday. Our contractors told us how hard and difficult it would be to work with State Farm and to expect to be denied and have to fight for our claim - nothing was further from the truth. Thank you Bill and team for making this tragedy a little more bearable and reducing the stress, and helping us rebuild our home and our lives."

"All of my insurance needs have been masterfully handled by the Bill Russell Agency of State Farm in Asheville, NC for quite a number of years now. I knew of Mr. Russell from the Community and his reputation as being very knowledgeable and fair. Every Staff member at this Agency has helped me so well and so quickly for all of these years. They are all well-trained, well-informed, great communicators and committed to delivering quality customer service. With all of that said, I'm writing this Review today to specifically single out one of the newer staff members at this Agency. Tyler Janosik has helped me so much during this past year. Many of us have been concerned recently about the rising cost of insurance. Tyler has patiently listened to me and has explained things in such a way that he helped to put things in perspective. I just hung up the phone with Tyler on a separate matter and, again, Tyler explained things to me while also offering facts specific to my account that addressed my concerns. Tyler is very knowledgeable, positive, eager to help and eager to please. Tyler's customer service skills and command of the insurance business cannot be beaten! In conclusion, I highly recommend both Tyler and the Bill Russell Agency for State Farm to anyone seeking high quality, personalized customer service with your insurance needs. "I really want to give Bill Russell 5 stars. For home and auto, the local team here has always been fantastic. They are good communicators and always strive to please the customer. However after 4 years of service without incident, on my first substantial claim for a no-fault deer-strike, State Farm's Central Claims Department mucked things up over and over again. Without boring anyone over the details, an obvious total-loss claim was strung out over the course of 3 months, leaving me without a vehicle and yet on the hook for continuing payments and insurance. Once they were finally able to admit this was a total loss, their inaction and ineptitude greatly impeded my process of financing a replacement vehicle. When looking at the big picture, it would be difficult to perfectly execute so many failures in sequence, without getting a single thing right. This leads me to question how much of this process is actually intentional, for the purpose of fonancially benefitting from delays of disbursement. When you look at the scale of the scam-like operation, there is a lot to be gained by delaying disbursements a month or 2 or 3 whenever possible. Shame on State Farm, as their negligence and total disregard for the people they serve has turned a very satisfied and loyal customer into a disgruntled former customer. It has caused specific harm to me and my family, but also to the reputation of the local staff, who I respect greatly."

"UPDATE - 2/18/20: It's been two months since my accident and I am finally getting this resolved from State Farm. The original in network body shop kept pushing me back. I took it to another body shop (First Aid) with terrific service. Upon their inspection, the original body shop missed the estimate by a couple of thousand dollars. Now my car is totaled. And I ended up renting a car out of pocket for no reason. To the office's credit, they have been trying to be as helpful as possible, but there's really nothing they have been able to offer. I found a new company who's rates are lower and coverage (rental car too) are lower. I'm sure State Farm's intent was not to be cruel in this claim, but until now at it's resolve, I feel that has been their impact. I am beyond disappointed in this unhelpful, falsely sympathetic State Farm office. I've been a customer of this insurance agency for twelve years. They've only made contact with me to tell me how they will not help me in just about any claim I've made. (twice in twelve years) The latest came after a policy that transferred into my name didn't have rental car coverage? After an accident, I now have the entire rental car portion out of pocket. Why would you cover a car collision repair and not include rental coverage? Their rates are the highest in town, and they didn't even bother to help lower rates to customers during the Pandemic. The lack of personal touch out of this office other than to call me today and offer to sell me rental coverage in case I have another accident is deplorable. There are many other choices out there."

"I’ve had State Farm car insurance for 30 years. Been with Bill Russell for 15. I have had a few claims and it is so nice to call and talk to one of the friendly staff to help work through a tough time. I’m really not a fan of calling a computer system or filing a claim online. Not being able to talk to a person is frustrating when your property is damaged. I give Bill and his office staff 5 stars"

"Staff super nice but...In three years i had two accidents (not my fault) and two windows replaced where rocks flew up. They cancelled me for claims history. But took their adjuster 3 weeks to get out to the car when it was at the shop. They dropped the ball and wouldnt extend the rental any further when the car wasnt fixed. Then when i got angry and finally called for answers, the rep transferred my call to another insurance company. I wouldnt recommend going here for insurence."

"I've been with state farm for 15+ years. I shopped around after my auto increased 30%. I found a new company and now I am saving $600 (dead serious...i feel like a fool), on my homeowners and my new auto policy is $160 cheaper annually. My service was great up until a claim."
